Passport Photograph Guidelines
Width and height of the image must be equal (1:1 ratio). Face must cover at least 75% of the photograph. UPSC portal matches live photo with uploaded photo; ensure matching looks.
Scanned Signature Guidelines
Sign on white paper with dark ink. Aspect ratio must be square-ish/compatible with 350x350px minimum bounds.
UPSC CSE Upload Specifications - Candidate FAQ
Candidates must upload their passport photographs in JPG, JPEG format. Portals reject other file formats (such as PNG or PDF) to maintain standard server processing protocols.
Signatures must be scanned and uploaded in JPG, JPEG format. Clean white background paper is required.
Passport photographs must be exactly 550 × 550 px (or equivalent aspect ratio). Scanned signatures must be cropped to 550 × 550 px.
Photographs must be between 20 KB and 300 KB. Signatures must be compressed between 20 KB and 300 KB.
